Rivers

McCarthy, Alaska

There are so many incredible things to see in Alaska. I did not expect rivers to be something that amazed me. The McCarthy Creek is in the lower part of this photo and is notable for the rapids. The Kennicott River can be seen in the background, flowing from the Kennicott Glacier. There is a milky appearance to the water from the glacial flour (rock ground into small particles by the glacier). We also saw braided rivers and broad flowing rivers.

Part of the wonder of creation is the marvelous diversity that exists.
