Coming or Going?

There must be someway to tell whether a photo is taken at sunrise or sunset, but I would not know this was sunrise if I had not taken this picture.

Having just gotten back from Kiawah and leaving today for Jamaica, I have that feeling of not knowing if I am coming or going. Good packing party last night and found out Katie G would definitely be with us for the upcoming medical clinics. As we will hear often during our trip, God is good all the time and all the time God is good.

Home on Vacation

As I went out for a morning run here in Kiawah Island, I covered some familiar ground. After nearly 30 years of coming here for vacation, it truly fits the description of “home away from home”.

Looking forward to a week with family, but will be missing those at home waiting on new arrivals.

Really Seeing

This is a famous arch in Canyonland NP, Utah called Mesa Arch. I must admit that I had never heard of it before we went to Moab, Utah and I saw it. However, not long after returning home from the trip, I saw a poster in the local coffee shop with a picture that included the arch and I immediately recognized it. Since then, I have seen it a number of times.

I’m sure that we have all had the experience of “seeing” something without really noticing it. Maybe that something is actually a someone. It is often said “the more you know, the more you know you don’t know.” I think it could also be said that “the more you see, the more you realize how little you see.”

Home Again

I haven’t been talking much about home, which is my word for the year. Going away for a few days definitely gives you a new perspective on home. Over time, it is very easy to lose an appreciation for things that have become very familiar. Like this view, from the drive to my usual Saturday morning run.
