St Mary Falls, Glacier NP

We saw two marmots while we were hiking in Glacier National Park. Both were very friendly and came from a fair distance away to right up close to us. I think they were checking us out.

Did you know that the woodchuck (also known as the groundhog) is one of 14 species of marmot? And Feb 2 is celebrated as “Marmot Day” in Alaska (thanks, Wikipedia).

Sometimes I have a hard time explaining why I see God in an image. Not this one.

This photo is from last week’s race in Oregon. We ran past (and even behind!) several waterfalls. While the pictures are striking, photos have no way of capturing the roar and mist from the falls.

There is a children’s movie called “Up” and one of the characters (a dog) is easily distracted by passing squirrels. I know that I am easily distracted from focusing on what is truly important.
